About Me
I am equal parts extrovert and introvert. Connection with others is one of the most nourishing aspects of my life, but I have also noticed that I need time on the couch (usually with my dog, Finn) to recharge my battery.
In my early 20s, I planned on becoming a high school guidance counsellor but after some twists and turns, I found myself drawn to gerontology instead. For several years, I organized activities for older adults and even drove a 14 seat passenger van taking seniors on fun trips. Later, I participated in research projects to contribute to improving quality of life of seniors. At 42, I returned to school to do a Master's in Social Work. My hope was to work in palliative care. Since 2016, I've been working in health systems helping health care teams and volunteers build their confidence on having important conversations with families and supporting them with their own experiences of grief and trauma.
In my work as a therapist, I enjoy working with people who are open to looking at their lives from different perspectives. As most people, I have had times of smooth sailing and times of upheaval.
